As fires continue to endanger tens of thousands in Los Angeles County, many have asked how to help survivors of these devastating fires. I wanted to share some opportunities to support the crucial good work already taking place to help those in need:
The Red Cross is leading efforts mobilizing disaster workers and helping evacuees with emergency shelter, food, emotional support, and other critical services. Additionally, the red cross is helping families reconnect with loved ones at redcross.org/findfamily and 1-800-RED CROSS.
World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is leading efforts on the ground in Southern California supporting first responders and families impacted by wildfires in the Los Angeles area, providing nourishing meals to people in need.
Local LAFD firefighters need support during this wildfire. The LAFD Foundation is actively seeking funds to provide LAFD members battling wildfires with equipment and supplies including Emergency Fire shelters, Hydration Backpacks, Wildland Brush Tools, and more.
